ECET2 Delaware: Connecting Innovative Educators is a free conference that brings together educators from across the state for an inspirational and empowering day of teacher-led and teacher-focused programming.

This event was formerly known as the Rodel Teacher Council Personalized Learning Workshop. The Cultivating a Calling Keynotes and breakout sessions will cover topics relevant to elementary, middle, and high school educators, as well as those in early childhood, CTE, and special education. Cultivating a Calling Keynote Speakers

 

Barbara Bray, creative learning specialist at Rethinking Learning, is the first Cultivating a Calling Keynote Speaker for ECET2 Delaware.

Her address will explore “The Future of Learning” with a special focus on skills needed for work and life, equity and social justice, and competency-based education.

 

Dr. Justin Comegys and Mr. William Culver a.k.a Two Guys Who Sort of Know What They’re Doing, established a professional social media network across several platforms in order to provide teacher to teacher professional development.

A quick summary of their address: “Teachers are heroes who don’t wear capes. They influence the future and should have a lot of fun doing it!”

 

Assistant Principal at Seaford Middle School, Jerod Phillips, M.ED, is the third Cultivating a Calling Keynote Speaker for ECET2 Delaware.

His address will focus on one of his passions; teacher-driven professional development.

Representatives from the following platforms will provide live demonstrations and answer questions.
ECET2 TWITTER CHAT:
The Rodel Teacher Council will host a Twitter Chat on Thursday, February 9 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss elevating and celebrating effective teaching and teachers as well as answer your questions about ECET2 Delaware.
 

 

Transportation for ECET2 Delaware will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis from Wilmington and Georgetown. There are 50 seats available at each location. To reserve your seat or learn more, click here.

Distinguished Fellowships &
Conference Opportunities

Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program (Applications due Feb.15)
Through the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program, U.S. K-12 teachers and educators can apply for grants to engage in collaborative projects for approximately two to six weeks abroad, with a preference for three or more weeks. Participants consult with and support schools, nonprofit organizations, teacher training institutions, and other educational organizations abroad.
CDC Science Ambassador Fellowship (Applications due Feb.15)
The CDC Science Ambassador Fellowship is the only program of its kind offered by CDC for teachers and educational leaders interested in bringing public health sciences into current middle and high school classrooms. This competitive fellowship includes a five day summer course at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia and a one year distance-based professional development opportunity.2017 Mid-Atlantic Conference on Personalized Learning (Mar. 1, Baltimore)
The Mid-Atlantic Conference on Personalized Learning is designed for those transforming education in the Mid-Atlantic and northeast regions. The conference features more than 90 dynamic and interactive sessions focused on personalizing learning for K-12 students.

Lynne Hall Teacher Action Research Prize (Applications due Mar. 3)
The Yale-Lynn Hall Teacher Action Research Prize recognizes and supports the leadership of teachers who continually work to improve their practice through action research. Current pre-kindergarten to 12th grade teachers or team of teachers, or full-time after-school educators are encouraged to apply.

University of Delaware Educational Technology Conference (Mar. 4, Newark)
This conference is a joint effort by The College School, the Education Resource Center, the Office of Educational Technology, and the Education Graduate Association in the College of Education and Human Development. Registration is open now and includes the keynote presentation, four concurrent sessions, lunch, and parking.

Delaware’s 23rd Annual Inclusion Conference (Mar.15, Dover)
The ​Inclusion ​Conference ​is ​designed ​to ​address ​the ​needs ​of ​educators, ​parents, ​policymakers, ​service ​providers, ​and ​child ​care ​providers ​involved ​with ​or ​interested ​in ​promoting ​inclusion ​for ​all ​from ​birth ​to ​21.
