On June 30, Grantmakers for Education hosted an event in Washington, D.C. entitled, “Transforming the Learning Ecosystem: Putting Personalized Learning Within Reach for All Learners.” One of the sessions was moderated by Katherine Prince, Senior Director of Strategic Foresight at KnowledgeWorks. KnowledgeWorks is a social enterprise focused on creating sustainable improvement in student readiness for college and careers, and they recently released the infographic included below, entitled, “A Glimpse into the Future of Learning.”

The infographic depicts the elements of a, “diverse learning ecosystem in which learning adapts to each child instead of each child trying to adapt to school.” This vision of student-centered learning has implications for all elements of how school functions, and will require all parts of the community to work together to shift the current system to one that will truly serve all students.
