The Delaware Charter School Performance Fund was designed to reward high performing charter schools, and prioritizes applications for programs that have (1) developed high quality plans for start-up or expansion or (2) serve high-need students. For schools currently in operation in Delaware, eligibility for the performance fund was based on schools’ ratings on the Charter School Performance Framework. For schools not yet in operation, eligibility for the performance fund was contingent upon the charter school’s approval by the Department of Education and State Board of Education.
Eligible charter schools submitted applications in April. Applications were reviewed based upon the Performance Fund Rubric. Awards were made public during the August meeting of the State Board of Education.
These investments in high performing charter schools will help to grow the high-performing charter schools in the state. Congratulations again to the awardees. Best of luck as you complete your projects!
