Early Learning Jobs in Delaware

The work has begun to implement the state’s early learning plan to improve quality and access, augmented by $49 million from the state’s win the Early Learning Challenge — Race to the Top. The Delaware Department of Education is now hiring positions associated with the plan. See the below descriptions for more information.

Position: Education Associate, Delaware Stars and Workforce Compensation

Description: This new position is funded with proceeds to be received through the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge (RTTT-ELC) award between 2012 and 2015. Through its RTTT-ELC application, Delaware has committed to putting our young children first and moving forward with reforms to strengthen our early care and education system. The goal is to create an exemplary early childhood system so that Delaware’s young children arrive at kindergarten ready for school success. The person hired will be responsible for overseeing implementation of the Quality Rating Improvement System and Workforce Compensation proposals outlined in Delaware’s winning RTTT application.

In addition, the DDOE is hiring an education associate for its charter school program.

Position: Education Associate, Charter School Program

Description: The Education Associate for the Charter School Program will provide support in meeting the requirements of the Charter School Act of 1995.  The individual in this position reports directly to the Charter School Officer.  The primary responsibility of this position will be working with existing charter schools and potential charter applicants in the areas of charter school accountability, instructional support, Charter School Office systems development, and compliance monitoring.
