Introducing Rachel Wiggans, Senior Program Officer

I’m truly pleased to introduce myself as the newest member of the team at the Rodel Foundation! My background includes research and analysis, strategic planning, and knowledge of K-12 education policy issues. In my role as a Senior Program Officer at the Rodel Foundation, I look forward to having the opportunity to utilize these skills towards the mission of helping Delaware build one of the finest systems of public education in the world by 2020.

Prior to joining the Rodel team, I was on staff for just over four years at Freire Charter School in Philadelphia as the school’s Director of Research & Quality Assessment. While at Freire Charter School, I was an active member of strategic planning teams; provided operational support during significant organizational expansion; and increased the school’s capacity to analyze, communicate, and act upon student data. I also advised the high school’s Student Government and Mock Trial clubs. My time at Freire convinced me that a high-quality school with capable and professional staff can truly change students’ lives and prepare them for successful academic and professional futures.

I recently completed my Masters in Public Administration at the University of Pennsylvania, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to expand my impact and join the team to implement Rodel’s mission and vision. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of the talented teachers, district leaders, and community partners who are already doing this important work in Delaware and am excited to learn from your experiences and to build an ongoing partnership on behalf of Delaware’s students.
