The opportunity to use SEED money to pay for your tuition is a gift that should not be over looked. Too often parents give in to the wishes of their child who want to get as far away from home as they can resulting in either the parent or child with a heavy debt, and not necessarily a better education than they would have received from a community college in Delaware.

Milford votes no on referendum
A controversial tax increase has been voted down by the residents of Milford. Voters took to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes on a measure that looked to tackle overcrowding in the Milford School District, as well as cuts in state and federal funding. Here’s a look at some of the issues.

No new charter schools in Delaware before June of 2018
Governor Markell signed a bill into law creating a moratorium on charter schools. The law bans new charter schools from opening in the state until June of 2018.

Unofficial results from today’s Milford School District Referendum show that the effort failed. Of the 3,834 voters that went to polls on May 5, only 1,760 voted for the measure. With 2,074 voting against.

Grading a student answer each minute could easily be overwhelming for the 121 graders at Pearson Inc.’s Ohio scoring center for the new Common Core exams from PARCC. But this operation in a suburban office complex outside Columbus is a very focused assembly line operation: Scoring 55 to 80 answers an hour is no problem for most.
